iii) “Every” children of the family is being grown with due care, love & affection along with quality education.

Our History

26th July 1991 the day when formally our organization came to the existence. Before the existence of this institution, various charitable activities were carried out by the group of individuals with the intention of serving economically, educationally and financially backward class of the locality.

Then scenario of the India as whole and of Kachchh District of Gujarat State was suffering for fulfillment of various basic needs such as basic food, shelter, basic education, poverty, financial stability, etc.

Here is some information about population; poverty and literacy rate as per 1991 census that googled up by us:

Literacy rate Poverty line Total Population
52.21% 6.50 Lakh families below poverty line during 9th plan 84.64 Crore Approx. 24% growth compared to previous decade.
0.13 crores Approx.

There was a much needed contribution from the financially stable and developed section of the society. Where valuable support was provided by the government also in the form of tax exemptions under income tax law to the contributors and to the recipient charitable institutions, various state and central government schemes were implemented to provide infrastructural and financial support in the form of grants to the charitable institutions.

Encouraged by such a supportive environment with having intentions to give helping hand to the backward class of society, a group of individuals under guidance and support of each other came forward and formed a formal structure in the form of Charitable Trust duly registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 named as Shree Navjeevan Viklang Sevashray.

Since, then scenario of the Indian economy was not in consonance of the world economy as our economy was in its initial stage of development. It was difficult to raise funds in the form of donations from general public.

During initial 6-7 years of organization, various charitable activities such as educational awareness, prevention of consumption of alcohol and harmful drugs, awareness to save girl child, organizing free medical, health checkup and awareness camps were being organized on small scales. Such activities resulted in small but valuable achievements.

Inspired such small success, it was decided to cover as much as possible section of the population so that objectives of the organization can be achieved on large scale and society can be benefitted from such initiatives.

But, the same could not be carried out as expected by the organization and described in the object clause of the trust. The reason behind such gap was shortage of funds, though the group of individuals did not gave up and kept on serving towards the society, they contributed from their own earnings.

And the day 26th January 2001 was night mare for India, especially Kachchh district of Gujarat State as it was the most affected by the earthquake. The whole district was affected very badly. It was not easy for people to overcome the massive loss suffered.

Around 18-20 thousand lost their lives, appox. 1.50 lakh were injured and 4.00 lakh became homeless and 15.9 million people out of total 37.8 million were affected. 80% of the food and water resources were destroyed and financial loss of Rs. 200 billions approx.

It became very difficult to overcome such a massive loss. But we are thankful to various charitable institutions from all over the world that came forward to help the affected people. With the help of all such organizations Kachchh got revived rapidly.

But still the problem of education, employment and awareness were difficult to overcome. Then it was decided by our organization to establish schools, hostels, residential schools, girls school and hostel to bring educational awareness for girl child. Later on residential school was established for physically and mentally retarded children from economically backward families.
